November 10, 2011, Santa Fe, New Mexico – Unity Santa Fe is proud to present two workshops presented by Gary Renard, a noted teacher of A Course in Miracles, and best-selling author of The Disappearance of the Universe, Your Immortal Reality, and Love Has Forgotten No One. Sunday, December 4, 5-9 pm and Monday, December 5, 6-9 pm.

Participants will learn how to claim their own identity of perfection and release forever the false ideas of lack, inadequacy and death. Gary will explain how it is possible to gain total mastery over the experience of life. Gary will also discuss his two teachers that appear to him (Ascended Masters) and share more of their teachings.

Rev. Brendalyn recently remarked, “We are delighted that Gary is returning here to Unity Santa Fe to share experiences from his own life. His humorous and enlightening stories and jokes remind us it’s okay to laugh and have fun. Everyone who joins Gary in these workshops will find it a joyfully enlightening experience. And it is always a special treat when Gary and his wife, Cindy shower us with their music during the workshops.”

An acclaimed teacher of A Course In Miracles, Gary underwent a powerful spiritual awakening in the early 1990s. As instructed by two ascended masters who appeared to him in the flesh, he wrote his first best-selling book, The Disappearance of the Universe, over a period of nine years. He was later guided to speak in public and has recently been described as one of the most interesting and courageous spiritual speakers in the world.

Gary has spoken in 41 states, 16 countries, and was the keynote speaker at the International A Course in Miracles Conferences in Salt Lake City and San Francisco. He is also the most recent recipient of the Infinity Foundation Spirit Award. The award is given to a person who has made a meaningful contribution to personal and spiritual growth.

Adventures in Faith – Art Contest Award
Unity Santa Fe

October 11, 2011, Unity Santa Fe is pleased to announce Alex Watts as the winner of its first annual Adventures in Faith Art Contest. Alex’s winning entry is a bronze sculpture, Leap of Faith. Margaret Gray and Richard Gutierrez made the announcement on Sunday, October 2, “We are thrilled that our 2011 Adventures in Faith Program will be graced by this beautiful image created by Alex Watts. We also wish to express great gratitude to Robert Cordingley for developing the art contest software that made it possible for many artists to submit their work.”

Alex, a local artist, is represented by Winterowd Fine Art Galley, 701 Canyon Road, and her work can be viewed there and on the website, www.fineartsantafe.com. Although local, Alex and her work are known and respected throughout England. Alex sculpts her lyrical figures in bronze and ceramic and speaks to the viewer of love, dreams, hopes and joy. Dancers are her muse – the forms are thin yet strong, the posed movement is thoughtful yet weightlessly free. Alex has shared, “Varied philosophies, religions, art and cultural artifacts have given me inspiration, helping me to gain a greater insight into the complexities and beauty of mans’ soul. I cannot begin a piece until I have fully engaged my spirit – prayer, music, movement and stillness help me do this.”

Leap of Faith can be viewed at Unity Santa Fe and is for sale.

This year’s Adventures in Faith Program centers on the study of the book, The Joy of Appreciative Living by Jacqueline Kelm. Rev. Brendalyn will deliver seven Sunday messages focused on “Joy”, and the congregation will celebrate with a pot-luck gathering of Appreciation on Sunday, November 20.

COMPASSIONATE COMMUNICATION INTRODUCTORY EVENING AND WORKSHOP
Accessing the roots of compassion toward oneself and others.

Santa Fe, NM, March 14, 2011 – Believing that peace in our world begins with each of us, Unity Santa Fe is pleased to sponsor a “COMPASSIONATE COMMUNICATION INTRODUCTORY EVENING AND WEEKEND WORKSHOP”, led by Mercedes Kirkel and Diane Diller. Introductory Evening is Friday, April 15, 7-9 pm. Weekend workshop begins with the Introductory Evening on Friday and continues through Saturday, April 16, 10 am -5 pm and Sunday, April 17, 2-6 pm. All events are at Unity Santa Fe.

This transformational workshop is based on the teaching of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), developed by Marshall B. Rosenberg, PhD.

Facilitator Diane Diller explains, “As Mahatma Gandhi said, 'Nonviolence is not a garment to be put on and off at will. Its seat is in the heart, and it must be an inseparable part of our very being.' This means cultivating compassion, not only in every action, but also in every thought and word. But how do we do this? Compassionate Communication offers a hands-on way through our everyday speech. Our habitual ways of communicating include judging, criticizing, blaming, and making demands of ourselves and others, which beget conflict and disharmony. Compassionate Communication guides us into peace and heartful connectedness.”

Facilitator Mercedes Kirkel adds, “Compassionate Communication goes deeper than just preventing and resolving conflict. It’s actually a way to manifest our spirituality through how we speak and listen. It actively supports people in growing in compassion, by using our speech to change our consciousness. And as an extra bonus, we get to enjoy our communications with others more!”

Mercedes has been practicing and teaching Compassionate Communication for 10 years; Diane has been practicing for over six years and teaching for 1 ½ years, and is a Certified Trainer-candidate with The Center for Nonviolent Communication.

All events are open to the public. Friday evening introduction is $10. Workshop and Introductory Evening is $125 if paid by April 13, $135 if paid after April 13.

Martin Luther King Documentary
Unity Santa Fe
February 25, 7:00 p.m.

February 7, 2011, Unity Santa Fe is pleased to host producer-director Kell Kearns as he presents a classic Martin Luther King documentary, In Remembrance of Martin, A Biography of America’s Prophet of Non-Violence.”

In January of 1986 Santa Fe producer-director Kell Kearns documented a stunning moment in US history: the celebration in Atlanta of the first Martin Luther King, Jr. National Holiday by those who knew King best.

What began as a request from Coretta Scott King, widow of the slain civil rights leader, that Kearns film the goings on of that historic weekend, resulted in In Remembrance of Martin, a critically acclaimed PBS biography, mixing rare footage of King with the memories and musings of – among others- Coretta, Jesse Jackson, Andrew Young, John Lewis, Archbishop Tutu, Edward Kennedy, Jimmy Carter, Bill Cosby, Joan Baez, the King family and Rev. Ralph Abernathy, his closest friend. The film is filled with the music of King’s time from gospel, to folk, and rock.

The national broadcast was named “An Official Event” of the 1987 King Holiday and garnered positive reviews across the country. The Washington Post urged that In Remembrance of Martin “should be shown regularly in every home and school”. Prophetic words. Today the film resides in thousands schools nationwide and for 10 years was a staple of PBS King oliday broadcasting.

Unity of Santa Fe will host a special Black History Month screening of the film on Friday, February 25, at 7:00 p.m. Love Offering $7.00

Director Kell Kearns will attend the screening and facilitate a discussion of the film. Kearns believes In Remembrance of Martin becomes more valuable with the passage of time. “As one by one we lose these great leaders who walked side by side with King,” Kearns said, “their reflections become more precious. People like Coretta, Ralph Abernathy, Edward Kennedy, all of whom I interviewed, helped create and share with Dr. King the monumental shift toward love and compassion that occurred in the America and the world in the 1960s.”

Gary Renard Seminar
Love Has Forgotten No One – May 8, 2010, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Unity Santa Fe

April 20, 2010, Santa Fe, New Mexico – Unity Santa Fe is proud to present an all day seminar by Gary Renard, a noted teacher of A Course in Miracles, and best-selling author of The Disappearance of the Universe and Your Immortal Reality.
Gary will guide seminar participants in learning to dissolve the illusions of time and space and return to reality which is Perfect Love; an all-encompassing kind of love that is perfect spirit: innocent, unflawed, immortal, invulnerable and forever fearless. Gary teaches how to get to that experience, which upon the end of one’s physical existence will become permanent reality – Love has forgotten no one.
Rev. Brendalyn Batchelor recently announced, “We are excited that Gary has chosen Unity Santa Fe to deliver his message of love and true forgiveness to all Santa Feans on a spiritual journey -- regardless of their path. Gary teaches that Real Love, divine in nature, is beyond words, yet Gary gives us the words and practice to help lead us to that experience. We hope that many from all paths will join us on May 8th”.

During his last few years of extensive travel, Gary has discovered that people are ready for much more than most teachers and the media are willing to give them. Gary shares startling revelations about the power of forgiveness to melt away the world’s mistakes.
