The Work of Byron Katie – Turn It Around – Weekend Workshop
Unity Santa Fe, July 23, 24, 25,
June 24, 2010, Santa Fe, New Mexico, Unity Santa Fe is pleased to present a Byron Katie weekend seminar, facilitated by Lava Mechthild Ewersmeyer, PhD.
The minister of Unity Santa Fe, Rev. Brendalyn Batchelor, recently announced, “We are blessed any time that we have the opportunity to explore and continue to follow the work of Katie Byron – a way of identifying and questioning the thoughts that cause all the fear and suffering in the world and learning how to turn that fear into peace and joy.”
Lava will begin the workshop on Friday, July 23, 6pm, with a participatory introduction in THE WORK and show the 60 minute film “Turn It Around” produced by Jenny McCarthy. This film shows Katie doing The Work with a variety of people such as a woman whose brother was killed in Iraq, a man who feels unattractive and a woman depressed because polar bears are starving. Katie demonstrates how dramatically The Work can change a life.
On Saturday, 10a-6p, and Sunday, 1p-5p, participants will learn inquiry with the Four Questions and the Turnarounds and to identify their beliefs in the midst of deep feelings, automatic reactions and criticisms. Lava will hold the space to question fearlessly these deeply held beliefs, concepts and ideas as participants face themselves in a whole new way. Participants will have the opportunity to experience a sense of balance and freedom, and to discover a new beginning to find innocence again.
Lava has over 30 years experience in teaching workshops in Europe and the United States. In addition to her private practice she shares The Work around the world as a mentor and coach.
Lava says about her own inquiry, “Through The Work I have found, that more often than not, the
Universe is friendly. I noticed that situations I perceived and judged as negative turned out to be blessings”.

Unity Santa Fe
April 20, 2010, Santa Fe, New Mexico – Unity Santa Fe is proud to present an all day seminar by Gary Renard, a noted teacher of A Course in Miracles, and best-selling author of The Disappearance of the Universe and Your Immortal Reality.
Gary will guide seminar participants in learning to dissolve the illusions of time and space and return to reality which is Perfect Love; an all-encompassing kind of love that is perfect spirit: innocent, unflawed, immortal, invulnerable and forever fearless. Gary teaches how to get to that experience, which upon the end of one’s physical existence will become permanent reality – Love has forgotten no one.
Rev. Brendalyn Batchelor recently announced, “We are excited that Gary has chosen Unity Santa Fe to deliver his message of love and true forgiveness to all Santa Feans on a spiritual journey -- regardless of their path. Gary teaches that Real Love, divine in nature, is beyond words, yet Gary gives us the words and practice to help lead us to that experience. We hope that many from all paths will join us on May 8th”.
During his last few years of extensive travel, Gary has discovered that people are ready for much more than most teachers and the media are willing to give them. Gary shares startling revelations about the power of forgiveness to melt away the world’s mistakes.
An acclaimed teacher of A Course In Miracles, Gary underwent a powerful spiritual awakening in the early 1990s. As instructed by two ascended masters who appeared to him in the flesh, he wrote his first best-selling book, The Disappearance of the Universe, over a period of nine years. He was later guided to speak in public and has recently been described as one of the most interesting and courageous spiritual speakers in the world.
Gary has spoken in 41 states, 16 countries, and was the keynote speaker at the International A Course in Miracles Conferences in Salt Lake City and San Francisco. He is also the most recent recipient of the Infinity Foundation Spirit Award. The award is given to a person who has made a meaningful contribution to personal and spiritual growth.

COMPASSIONATE COMMUNICATION WORKSHOP
A workshop to promote world peace through
compassionate listening and speaking techniques.
Santa Fe, NM, July 30, 2009 -- In support of community, national, and world peace, Unity Santa Fe is proud to present a “Compassionate Communication Workshop”, presented by Diane Diller on Sunday, September 13, 2009 from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the church. This inspiring, yet practical, workshop is based on the book Nonviolent Communication, by Marshall B. Rosenberg, PhD. In 2005, Marshall received the Light of God Expressing in Society Award from the Association of Unity Churches, International.
As Mahatma Gandhi said, “Nonviolence is not a garment to be put on and off at will. Its seat is in the heart, and it must be an inseparable part of our very being.” This means cultivating nonviolence not only in every action, but also in every thought and word.
Facilitator Diane Diller expresses her commitment to and enthusiasm for Dr. Rosenberg’s techniques. “Compassionate Communication, also known as Nonviolent Communication ™, is a communication model which helps us do just that--cultivate peace. It helps us transform old patterns of defensiveness and aggressiveness into compassion and empathy and to resolve our differences peacefully. This way of communicating helps bring deeper connection and understanding with others--even if they don't know the technique. It is practiced in over 30 countries.”
Diane has been a student of Nonviolent Communication ™ for over five years and will give an introduction for beginners on how to express yourself when it’s scary, how to listen to others with an open heart, how to transform judgments into compassion and strengthen relationships with family, friends, and co-workers.
The workshop is open to the public, with a suggested love offering of $25. A skill-building class will meet on Mondays for 12 weeks, beginning September 14, 6:30-8:30 p.m., with a suggested love offering of $5 per session.
