Usher/Greeters
This team seeks out our first timers after Sunday services and helps them feel welcome within our church family. If you are outgoing and friendly, this team may be your calling. During the week, this team calls or writes those who have signed our first-timer sign-in sheet, letting them know that we are glad they chose our church.
Bookstore Team
Bookstore team members assist others on their journey by providing the spiritual materials to help each individual in their personal growth and transformation. The Bookstore Team is responsible for handling the sale of books on Sunday mornings, as well as helping out with ordering, stocking and inventorying books. As a bonus, Bookstore Team members receive a 15% discount on all books on the day they work!
Bulletin Team
The bulletin and sanctuary team is responsible for folding and collates the Sunday bulletins, and preparing the Unity Santa Fe Welcome Packets for Sunday service.
Hospitality Team
The Hospitality Team arranges the delicious foods that are served after church. You may choose to set up coffee, hot water and pastries; clean up afterwards; arranging refreshments, or coordinating special receptions or potlucks. Or you can bring special goodies on a Sunday for our church family to enjoy.
Overhead Projector Team
Can you read backwards and upside down? Members of this team use the overhead projector to display the Sunday service songs to the congregation.
Rideshare Team
The Rideshare Team serves congregants by picking up individuals who are without transportation before Sunday (or other) services, and returning them home afterward. Team members are matched with congregants in their area.
Sanctuary Team
The Sanctuary Team is responsible for making sure the sanctuary is set up for Sunday (or other services). This includes filling the candle baskets, filling liquid candles, stuffing the chair backs with prayer slips, and tidying up the sanctuary.
Sound & Light Team
If you ever dreamed of being a sound or light technician in the theater, this is your opportunity. The Sound & Light Team provides sound and lighting support during services and special events by doing the audio taping and controlling the lights in the sanctuary.
Youth Education Team YES! (Youth Expressing Spirit!)
The members of our youth team serve as teachers (sponsors), teaching assistants, substitute teachers, special activities organizers, storytellers, etc. Sponsors are asked to teach one or two Sundays per month, prepare lesson plans (we have GREAT materials) and attend sponsor meetings once a month. Our children are grouped by age into three groups:
Nursery (ages 0-4)
Primary (ages 5-8)
Pre-teen (ages 9-12)
Teens (ages 13 and up)
We offer many training opportunities for our teacher, and Unity has wonderful regional and national support staff for children’s programs. We invite you to be a part of this exciting team!
Board of Trustees
Members of the board of trustees together determine the direction the church is taking. Meetings are held once a month. Elections are held at the annual meeting in February or March; vacancies can also occur throughout the year, which are filled by appointment.
Chaplaincy Team
Chaplaincy team members support the church members in their spiritual journey. Chaplains pray with congregants after Sunday services, and provide in-home and hospital visitation. They also contact church members for monthly “wellness calls.” This team requires an interview with the minister and extensive training.
Outreach Team
Members of the outreach team determine where the church can most help in the local community, and organizes programs to benefit those in need.
Facilities Team
The facilities team oversees the church’s building, equipment and grounds. You may enjoy this team if you are “handy” and enjoy minor repair work, or if you enjoy gardening and landscaping.
Finance Team
The finance team meets on a regular basis to review the church’s financial statements, assuring that we are on track with our vision.
In Reach Team
The In reach team keeps members connected to one another as we grow as a community. This team organizes church potluck dinners and get-togethers, book study groups and special interest groups, such as those who enjoy hiking, theater, sports, etc.
Lending Library Team
We are blessed to have a wonderful lending library at the church with a wide assortment of spiritual books, cassettes and videos. This team keeps the library organized, checks in new books, and maintains library items.
Music Team
The music team determines music happenings such as special music, Sunday song selections, and choir. This team is also coordinates any musical programs and concerts.
