Ralph Huber

Ralph Huber was inducted as a Unity Santa Fe Treasure on Sunday, August 13, 2017. The following is the biography published on that date.

A Course in Miracles says, "to teach is to demonstrate." Describing the qualifications of a teacher of God, it says,..."somehow, somewhere he made a deliberate choice in which he did not see his interests as apart from someone else's." Ralph Huber heard the call to teach.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Ralph graduated from Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) with a BS in English and went on to earn his Master's Degree in English Literature. He taught English/Humanities/Debate and supervised student teachers for seven years at SEMO's on-campus K-12 Laboratory School. In 1976, he began a PhD program offered by New York University in Humanities Education, spending a summer in Paris and the following summer in Japan. In 1978, he moved to New York City to complete his PhD, receiving his degree in 1983.

He transitioned from academia to management consulting/training, mainly in the cable TV industry. There was lots of business travel, offering trainings in customer service, consultative sales, management, supervisory and leadership skills. In 1987, he began working with the former Vice President of Macy's, supporting him in consulting and training in the retail industry.

In 1988, Ralph moved back to St. Louis to support his mom, dad and an aunt who were in poor health, while continuing to work as a corporate trainer and management consultant.

Ralph moved to New Mexico in 1998 to join an intentional community called Hummingbird Community. In 2000, he attended a Unity Santa Fe Sunday Service to hear guest speaker Andrew Harvey, which resulted in Ralph becoming a regular attendee of Sunday Services.

By February 2001, Ralph was elected to the Board of Trustees. He has served for a total of 11 years, six years as president. Ralph has participated in classes and workshops, written the study guide for many Adventures In Faith programs and has delivered many thoughful and inspiring Sunday service messages. For the past four years, he was instrumental in leading Prosperity in Action, which became the successful Home Free campaign.

He published his book Awakening Into Perfect Peace: Reflections on Freedom from Suffering in 2013. He has taken the Board through a seven-week seminar based on the principles in the book and is now developing a Ministry Transformation Program which will convey the message and practice of moving into the awakened self.
