Our Social Action Team is sponsoring a service opportunity here at Unity Santa Fe, called Care and Share, as a way of blessing others in our local Santa Fe community.
By talking with local social service organizations, we've learned what some of the greatest needs are in our community.
Each month, we are highlighting one specific need and offering the opportunity for you to donate items to fill that need.
ART IS LIFE - LIFE IS ART
Vital Spaces, a wonderful local organization, puts on free art classes and workshops for people without homes and low-income people in Santa Fe to help them get their creative juices flowing and allow them to have a feeling of accomplishment. During the month of February, our Care & Share program will be supporting their work by collecting ART SUPPLIES for them. This includes things like:
ITEMS ACCEPTED THIS MONTH:
- Paint brushes
- Fine and medium tip Sharpies, all colors
- Pens, all colors
- Pencils, all colors
- Watercolor paper
- Sketch paper, especially 11x17 or larger
- Scissors (not safety tip)
- Rulers
- 1/2" masking tape
- Zipper bags (NOT Ziplok) for transporting supplies
ALSO, Bienvenidos Outreach, a local nonprofit that provides food for low-income people, desperately needs EGG CARTONS. Now you know what to do with those empty egg cartons that you thought there must be a use for! Just bring them to Unity and Marietta Hubler will take them to Bienvenidos.
