"Did you know the New Mexico Interstate Stream Commission is starting the first phase of a new regional water planning effort? This is a great opportunity to advocate for environmental flows–because rivers and wetlands need water, too!"
The New Mexico Interstate Stream Commission is launching a new phase of regional water planning — and it's a key moment to make sure the voices of nature, wildlife, and future generations are heard.
Healthy, flowing rivers are essential to all of us. They support biodiversity, provide clean water, and are deeply tied to our cultures and communities. As the state plans for the future of water, it’s important that:
- Rivers and wetlands get the water they need to survive
- Climate realities and shrinking water supplies are taken seriously
- All voices are included — especially Tribal nations and environmental groups
- Water remains protected for people and wildlife alike
💧 Agua es vida. Water is life.
