November's Care & Share - Are You Hungry?

Some of our neighbors are very hungry.  Here is your chance to fill bellies and fill hearts at the same time.

Our Social Action Team is sponsoring a service opportunity here at Unity Santa Fe, called Care and Share, as a way of blessing others in our local Santa Fe community.

Peanut Butter Jars on ShelfBy talking with local social service organizations, we've learned what some of the greatest needs are in our community.

Each month, we'll be highlighting one specific need and offering the opportunity for you to donate items to fill that need.  We've learned that one of the most pressing needs for people with low income is FOOD.

As our time of Thanksgiving feasting approaches, let's help our neighbors feast as well.  So for the month of November, you are encouraged to bring unopened non-perishable food items like canned goods, peanut butter, pasta, rice, cereals, etc., but please, no glass containers.  Look for plastic jars instead.  Or, as an alternative, you can buy gift cards from stores that do not sell alcohol, like Target or La Montañita Coop.  We'll see to it that they are distributed to where they will do the most good.

So check for sales at local stores or raid your own pantry, the more the better, and bring your yummies to church!

THANK YOU!
