October's Prayer Column - "Opening the Heart to Guidance”" 🙏🏽

When we are endeavoring to listen, to understand, and to follow our divine guidance..we find that every wind that blows does fill us with the spirit of plenty…”  -Myrtle Fillmore, How to Let God Help You

The first step in the art of Prayer is to Be still andWoman in Peace know. Wonderful words that can help to calm the mind and the heart. Combining that with deep breaths and closed eyes we can move us from the sympathetic nervous system of fight, flight or freeze reaction to the parasympathetic energy of greater peace and harmony. It’s a reaction of the natural internal body chemistry. We don’t have to think about how, the body knows how.

Divine guidance is not out there somewhere, it is within. I like to think of it as being in the ocean of love and being one with that love. Only the intellect with its programmed thoughts creates a separation. Love is already here, peace is already here, answers are already here.

Faith and trust are the ingredients we need to activate to receive the divine guidance we seek. Opening the heart of love we can receive the understanding and the will to find our own divine wisdom. Charles Fillmore’s twelve powers are real energies to help us “Let God Help”. There is divine order when we find our power to release the past, open our imagination and find our own strength within this life. This is how we return to our own zeal and enthusiasm for an abundant life.

The twelve powers are: Faith, Understanding, Will, Imagination, Power, Love, Divine Order, Wisdom, Release, Strength, Life and Zeal. (See The Twelve Powers by Charles Fillmore)
