There is an art to any human endeavor. We are creative beings who express ideas and emotions through our thoughts, feelings, and senses. When we pray, we create an environment of spiritual expression using all our Divine powers.
There are a number of different “formulas” or steps for prayer. For myself, I have created a simple three step process that is easy to remember using the mnemonic ART.
A – Awareness. I take a few moments to bring myself fully into the presence of the Divine. I see this step as a function of Mind as I bring myself into Alignment with the One Mind that knows and accepts me just as I AM..jpg)
R – Reflection. I go within and listen in silence to the still voice within that emanates from my Heart center, the core of my being that feels the fulfillment of my deepest desires. It is here that I find a profound connection to the One. It is here that I Recognize the true purpose of prayer – to be ever closer to the God of my understanding. It is here that the words attributed to Jesus resonate most fully:
“Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you”.
T – Thanks. I express gratitude for the blessings in my life as I Trust that All Is Well. I know in my Soul that everything is unfolding perfectly for my highest good.
The wonderful thing about art is that it is dynamic and ever-changing. And so it is with my prayer life. It is always evolving as I grow and learn and deepen my understanding. I encourage you to create your own prayer process. And then to re-create it as often as your inner artist inspires you to do so.
Namaste
