“Let me practice forgiveness when I find myself in judgment of myself or others. Let me listen through God’s voice and my open heart to hear a different perspective.”
From: Prayers from the Heart of Silent Unity
February is commonly associated with the month of love and being heart centered. It is also still near the beginning of the new year, a time for fresh ideas, unexpected surprises, and personal growth. While January saw us embark on a period of resolutions and intentions to improve, expand, or change, February offers an opportunity for
relaxation and reflection.
I find that February is an introspective month. Amidst the lingering winter, there is time for thoughtful reflection. In our reflection we may confront judgmental thoughts we have been harboring but not realizing. Mindfulness is the practice of being aware of our thoughts and emotions. The Buddhist monks walking in December and January through the Southeast US to Washington, D.C. have taught us about mindfulness and walking in peace with open hearts. As we say at Unity Santa Fe, “Peace is all around us, we are here to become aware of it and anchor it in this now moment.” Seeking forgiveness and prayers for peace opens our hearts to greater peacefulness, love, compassion, and patience.
Your Unity Prayer Chaplain is happy to offer prayers for healing, understanding, gratitude, forgiveness, peace and much more. Your prayer chaplain will pray with you as though the peace and love you desire already exist here and now. If you would like to have a monthly prayer chaplain call you, please contact RevLiz@UnitySantaFe.org with your request.
