January's Care & Share - Support Our Furry Families

A Joint Project of the Care & Share and Unity Pet Ministry Teams

Our furry friends need help too!  During the month of January, we'll be collecting needed items for the Santa Fe Animal Shelter and the Street Homeless Animals Project.

Our Social Action Team is sponsoring a service opportunity here at Unity Santa Fe, called Care and Share, as a way of blessing others in our local Santa Fe community.

By talking with local social service organizations, we've learned what some of the greatest needs are in our community.

Each month, we'll be highlighting one specific need and offering the opportunity for you to donate items to fill that need.  We've learned that one of the most pressing needs in our community is support for our ANIMAL SHELTER and STREET HOMELESS ANIMALS PROJECT.

So for the month of January, you are encouraged to bring the following items.

•    Kitty litter – NON-CLUMPINGDog Praying
•    Cat or dog toys – NON-PLUSH, suitable for sanitizing
•    Pet carriers
•    Food bowls – METAL or COLLAPSABLE
•    Harnesses
•    Leashes
•    Dog coats – Large or Extra Large
•    Pet food – PURINA, FRISKIES, or FANCY FEAST brands

•    But the biggest need for the Street Homeless Animals Project is MONETARY DONATIONS to pay for spaying, neutering, and other veterinary bills.  Checks may be made out to S.H.A.P. (NOT to Unity!).  Please, no cash or credit cards.  There will be a special box in the foyer for your checks.

After January, the Care and Share program will move on to something else, but our wonderful Unity Pet Ministry will continue to accept these kinds of donations.

Please bring your donations on Sunday or if necessary, please contact Brendan to bring goods at another time - communications@unitysantafe.org

THANK YOU!
